AFAIK, the HTC one is able to use hardware supported audio (and not emulated) which [should] means better sound. It also allows you to watch ANY video from their 'library'. The google app only allows you to access all 'mobile' versions of the video only.

Think of it as being able to access from the PC (HTC YT) or accessing it from the m.youtube.com site (Google YT).
