the HTC Data Backup CAB works pretty well for me. I used it to backup everything when I first started trying out custom ROMs, and so I would back it up before putting the custom ROM on it, then if something went bad, I would just restore that backup file, and it would put the stock ROM back on my device. CAB is attached, both ZIP and standard CAB formats.
