in regards to seeing "usb" in bootloader mode. i have a sprint TP, and ive never had any issues flashing, however, mine has also never said "USB". If i put the phone into bootloader mode with the usb cable unplugged, it says "serial" in the white section at the bottom of the screen. If i put it in bootloader mode with the usb cable plugged in, it has nothing in the white section at the bottom of the screen. Just for reference, this occurs on vista and windows 7. Its not an issue, just thought id add this to show that you dont have to see USB on the screen for a flash to work. I have never had a flash fail.
