Sure thing. One option for ya though... you can download the kitchen and pull out the wallpapers, today themes, ringtones, etc and use them in another ROM if you wanna go that route. I love Calk's stuff too, but might be worth a shot to help narrow down the root cause.
funny thing is that someone reading this post has probably gone through this and is laughing to themselves...
