EDIT:: Wow, when android says my battery is dead and shuts off and I plug it in to charge, it just jumps to 50%... how can this be? (I verified in winmo that the battery is actually dead).

Could Panel type in default.txt have anything to do with this?
the temperature of the battery in android has alot to do with how the battery percentage is read. if it's hot it shows a higher percentage and if it's cold it shows a lower percentage. i think the latest update fixes alot of those problems and if it doesn't they are working on it.
