when you subtract 15% on a calculator it subtracts 15% of whatever number you enter, it does not use an arbitrary formula.

so when you type in 1000 -15% in landscape mode on the default calculator it should equal 850, not 999.85.


use the % sign on any calculator, including the Windows one and enter 1000 -15% =

Guess what, you don't get 999.85.
