I already posted this at Modaco, but I'll cut and paste here:

Reasons why a user may want the official Verizon update:

1) Updated radio
2) Better GPS functionality (possibly). A-GPS wasn't enabled in the official ROM updates for the TP or the Saga, but Verizon did mention "Enhanced GPS functionality"... Perhaps they will do some software tweaks to make GPS lock faster. Who knows
3) Bug fixes still present in CC20 that can't be edited by chefs
4) And finally, perhaps the biggest reason people may be holding out for the official upgrade: Verizon still has to honor the warranty. If you're already on a cooked ROM and need to take the phone back for whatever reason, you can re-flash the phone to the official firmware and Verizon won't know that you've breached the warranty contract.
