Re: what will i miss on iPhone

I left Sprint and moved to AT&T just a week ago and bought an Iphone. I didn't do it to move to the Iphone, I did it because the Sprint service in our area has degraded so badly that it became literally unusable. This despite the Sprint coverage map showing us as having "excellent" coverage. Sprint engineering informed me that they know they had a problem tower (the one that served us) but they were not going to fix it because they didn't have that many users here. There were other issues also. Because of the coverage problem they let us go with no ETF.

I went to AT&T but was concerned about coverage because we are not in their service area. I won't go into how we were able to open an account but we did. I ported over to give it a try before porting my wife's phone and the service was fine everywhere we went. I ported my wife's phone last Saturday.

We both got Iphones. There are things I miss in the Iphone but it has turned out to be a good phone for us. The dealbreakers that I had to have are there. Its true that it is not as configurable at WM but it also has some nice features.

I could definitely see myself moving back to a WM device on AT&T when the newer WM phones start coming out but I don't think I would consider than until WM7 and then I'll take a look at it.

I don't get involved in WM vs. Iphone because its not productive for me. I buy and use what works for me. I could love WM from now till hell freezes over but with no working Sprint signal here where we use our phones its a moot point. We'll see if I stay with the Iphone once WM7 phones start showing up on a cell network that is usable in my area. That's the big question and I don't know the answer to it myself at this point.
