i had that happen to me there is also a setting on the computer. it was somewhere on the lil box that has explore and all that on it when active synce launches. it had a setting that said trn on active synce or something like that. didnt see exactly where it was because i didnt do it my self i looked away from the comp for a second and my friend had it working. im sure ur saying the box doesnt come up because it doesn recognize the phone. if ur on windows xp u have to go to start and find active synce in the programs list to start it. that should dave u some time hard resetting ur phone.
