If you knew Tegra 2 was coming out a year from now, would you still buy Tegra 1 this December? You might, but the answer is you shouldn't. If nVidia has already gone through the lifespan of Tegra 1, figured out its benefits and shortcomings, and determined the best course of action to make the ideal SOC, then Tegra 2 is exactly what we've been waiting for. And, we shouldn't have to wait until 2011 to see it. No doubt nVidia has gained experience with mobile chipsets and been able to speed up development and production. Couple that with Microsoft's specs for Pink, which require at least a Tegra or Snapdragon chipset, and you can be sure, this time next year, we will have our pick of dreamphones:
Windows Mobile 7
3.8" OLED, 480x800, WVGA, capacitive, multitouch screen
512MB ROM
1/8/16GB RAM
CDMA/GSM, FM, WiFi b/g/n, WiMax/LTE, BT 2.1+ EDR, GPS
3.5mm headphone jack
mini-USB out
5/8 megapixel auto-focus/zoom camera with LED flash
microSDHC
1500 mAH battery
BTW, I listed WM7 because they will get these specs before any other OS. Android is woefully behind with regards to handset design and features, and Apple marches to the beat of its own tone-deaf drummer. WM7 will get these features first; according to the Pink specs, these are the minimum requirements.

Why would we buy the first gen? The People that buys the 2nd gen is the same people that buys the the 1st gen. It's called "upgrade". Why are U gonna buy the second gen if you never really experience the first? The 1st will tell U, and all the consumers, if the device will make it to part 2. WHat if the 1st is crap? U gonna buy the 2nd? Do U watch trilogy movie starting at part 2? PLus Tegra 2 if you read the article will target the netbook or maybe even the laptop market. It will be overrated for a smartphone.
Seriously, What pisses me off is that Nvidia is in every event that they can show off Tegra. But when ask when is it gonna hit the market? this quarter, that quarter. Prolly there is a major issue on the chip that they cannot disclose. We just saw demos. Nobody tried it in the real world. The day to day smartphone dependency test. They said last year, april 2009 it will be released. it's july already. Usually, 3-4 month before a device is announced, A leak from mr. blurrycam comes out. Then after the announcement, at least 2 more months b4 it is released to the public. So if we do that math on that terms. it's not coming out this year. The Tegra chip is not ready. It has some major issue. It will prolly be an epic fail. I will just be happy if they release one. What happen to apx2500 on a phone? nobody knows. It was replaced by ap16 which, (U guessed it right) nobody knows.
