Re: Nvidia Tegra News, Updates and Latest Development watch

nVidia will release Tegra via phones before the end of the year. Sure, they're behind schedule but so what? It's their first foray into mobile chip computing and I think we can all agree they're onto something. Only a fool buys the premiere edition of any 1st-gen tech. If you knew Tegra 2 was coming out a year from now, would you still buy Tegra 1 this December? You might, but the answer is you shouldn't. If nVidia has already gone through the lifespan of Tegra 1, figured out its benefits and shortcomings, and determined the best course of action to make the ideal SOC, then Tegra 2 is exactly what we've been waiting for. And, we shouldn't have to wait until 2011 to see it. No doubt nVidia has gained experience with mobile chipsets and been able to speed up development and production. Couple that with Microsoft's specs for Pink, which require at least a Tegra or Snapdragon chipset, and you can be sure, this time next year, we will have our pick of dreamphones:

Windows Mobile 7
3.8" OLED, 480x800, WVGA, capacitive, multitouch screen
512MB ROM
1/8/16GB RAM
CDMA/GSM, FM, WiFi b/g/n, WiMax/LTE, BT 2.1+ EDR, GPS
3.5mm headphone jack
mini-USB out
5/8 megapixel auto-focus/zoom camera with LED flash
microSDHC
1500 mAH battery

BTW, I listed WM7 because they will get these specs before any other OS. Android is woefully behind with regards to handset design and features, and Apple marches to the beat of its own tone-deaf drummer. WM7 will get these features first; according to the Pink specs, these are the minimum requirements.
