Someone filed an insurance claim without my authorization?
I have been with sprint for about 3 years and EVERYTIME I make a change to my acct, sprint scr*ws it up. I have a touch pro which had the peeling chrome. I found on this forum that talking to tech support that you could get an exchange. I did this back in May and sent the old phone back within a couple days. Now my latest statement shows a $200 non return phone charge and a $100 deductable. I called Sprint and customer service told me I made a claim in JUNE and need to talk to Asurion? So I called and they said I made a claim and that I need to call sprint about the problem. Calling Sprint back I again was told I made a claim and that only "I" can file a claim. Getting no where fast I asked to be transfered to tech support. There I talked with a rep who stated that he had a touch pro and had the same problems. He also stated that he has ROUTINELY filed claims on the customers behalf to get them a new phone. He credited me back $198 and states to call the wharehouse to dispute the other $100. I called the wharehouse 2 days later and was told they can not give me any info and that I need to talk to sprint. I called today and spoke with sprint who three way conferenced to Asurion. The lady at Asurion was very rude and states that actually I made two claims, one in June and one in July. I live in CA and the phones where sent to AZ and NY. I asked why they would send phones to those states if I live in CA. She told me they do not deny ANY claims and will send a phone where ever as long as the caller knows the Pin or password. Well considering my wife does not even know the password I smell something very fishy. How could they not know where these phones are, they have the mailing address and ESN. How could anyone get my password unless it was an inside job. Why was I being charged for one phone when two were sent out? The insurance is going to call tomorrow or Monday and talk with me more about the situation. i assume they are going to do some investigating. It seems crazy that someone would want a hot phone. Has anyone else had claims filed under their acct falsely or knows if they can catch the bastards that did this. I am holding out hope that it was just a typo and that sprint just flled a claim under the wrong acct.
