Just wanted to point out that my IE homepage was set to a Sprint page and when it shows up that it's dialing #777 it says Sprint. Do I need the carrier cab after all?

Yes, you should install your carrier cab. Mattsm builds for Spint as default (his carrier) and the cab will over-write those settings. You'll still have the Sprint homepage, but it'll make your connection use Verizon standards.
