you might be able to set your phone up as an internet radio server... then your pc could log into it and play the music.
THe nice thing about that would be that you'd be able to do it through WiFi meaning that you could carry it around your house as a remote.
If you just want a remote though, it might be easier to put the music on the PC and then just control the PC from the PPC... via vnc or something...
What are ultimately trying to do here? I understand your initial question, but I guess the question is "why" answering that question might help someone give you an alternative that allows you to achieve your ultimate goals.
