it worked for me...I changed the sounds to 2 sounds that I knew couldn't wake me (yes it is not just one sound) and with this registry hack, it makes it all one sound and now I have the option of disabling the on screen message...
the 2 sounds you will need to change...
are "alarm2.wav" and the 2nd sound is "Notify.wav"
use ur windows explorer and navigate to the "Windows" folder the sounds are located there.
