Speed and compatibility are generally not a issue with a stock iPhone. The same cannot be said for a TP, stock or otherwise. As for getting another ROM? I'm well past a dozen for the TP and probably flashed my Mogul over 50 times. The iphone isn't the end all be all of phones, but I'm surprised that anyone who used one extensively wouldn't see it's browser as superior to anything in the WM world. Forget multitouch, it's significantly faster and works properly with more sites than any WM browser I've tried (IE, Opera 8.x/9.x/mini, Skyfire, Iris, UCWEB, Fennec). The screen size alone makes it a better experience. About the only thing missing is flash support which isn't entirely important to me. Maybe there was an issue with the iPhone you used, because ever one I've used is much louder than the TP w/any audiopara fix around. HTC is famous for making quiet phones with inadequate ringer and speaker phone volume. That being said, the iPhone's walled garden is one of the things ( along with at&t) that might keep me from ever getting one. The iPhone is great multimedia centric computer with a lousy phone added on ( possibly due to at&t's service?). The TP (at least the CDMA models) is a decent phone addled by a 10 yr old OS running on modern hardware. I wouldn't say the iPhone is the right choice for me, but if I have to answer which device is better at its given tasks? The iPhone blows the TP away!

Please dont compare skyfire speed with safari's speed. I cant stand skyfire on the tp, but the one thing skyfire does have on safari is the speed, it is a server side browser. But anyhoo, I can agree with some of what you say, but in the end its just preference, for I need to get done, I prefer winmo, wish symbian was more popular in the states. Anyways, I liked using that iphone for some things, but not others, plus it lacked on a few things I could with winmo, still waiting to see if winmo 7 will be any different or if symbian starts being sold more in the U.S. or atleast through my carrier, but doubt doubt it. So, in the meantime I like my tp.
