it's possible that she has a battery that doesn't fit right. does it randomly turn off when she uses the slider as well? apparently there were two different manufacturers for the battery where one of the makers made them slightly too small so movements could disrupt the battery's connection. if that's the case, go to a sprint store and just swap the battery.
