And it serves its purpose well to increase usability and friendliness of the WM UI.

Personally I like 6.5 and I think it is an indication that MS is headed in the right direction. I do not think that 6.5 is a giany leap by any means, (and it was never meant to be) but it is definitely a couple steps in the right direction. I think WM will be fine in the future and has the potential to be great. The release of WM7 is a 'make it or break it' sort of thing and MS knows this. If WM7 is a bust, MS will lose consumer interest and support for some time. I don't think it will be a bust though. As long as MS implements all of the things that make WM the best platform available while making it accessible through a ridiculously easy UI, WM will be just fine.

I think that a large factor in determining the success of WM7 will be marketing and the ability to attract develpers which, in some sense, will go hand in hand. Good marketing --> large attraction of consumers and developers. I think the freedom of developing whatever you want for WM will provide great attraction as long as the devices will sell. As far as marketing, this is huge. The iPhone is a huge success partially because it is a great phone, but more so because Crapple did a phenomenal job marketing the phone. They lead the masses to believe that the iPhone was the first phone to play music view YouTube and many other things. Windows needs to market on this level and now has the challange of convincing the masses to take another look at WM.

Anyhow, this is a long post so I will stop writing now.
See I never said 6.5 was, but anyways it is so true, when the iPhone first came out the marketed it like it was the first Touch Screen phone....and it wasn't

Have you ever noticed that there is not 1 commercial for a WM Device? Amazing right? Just imagin how well HTC and other WM devices would be is they commercialized them...instead the carriers just publicize their Dumbphones: I.E. Sprint's Instinct, Verizon's Storm, Alltel's Razr, and AT&T's iPhone
