Re: Android on the Omnia

Personally I love this, not because it works well (it doesn't yet) but because the geniuses that are working on it will eventually bring it up to completely working status and the Omnia's awesome hardware will be paired with an OS that is fresh and new and holds more potential than WinMo for development (come on, it's open source!) and is just better to use. I can't wait until they get it cleaned up and working.
The trickiest part is getting into a Linux OS on your computer to format the SD card to an ext2 partition then copying the files on to it (I'm a computer guy and I had to jump through some hoops to get it working), then it takes a while to boot, then you can't do much with it. But you can navigate with the touchscreen and use the buttons just fine. If you can get it working, you have nothing to lose, as stated previously, you just launch an exe which loads android, then you can pull the battery and power up to get back to winmo. I would wait until it gets more functional.
