By default all known application folders are avoided, so it generally does a good job of only scanning legitimate media.

If you need more control, Kinoma Play has an optional Advanced Settings app that lets you control over what folders and file types are scanned.

Thanks! As far as we know, nothing else (at any price) comes close to giving you access to more video, podcasts, radio stations, audiobooks, etc. via Kinoma Guide, SHOUTcast, Audible, and the other services that are built right in. (Not to mention great support for services like Flickr, Orb, and more.)
