Re: New Netfront update.

I am getting insufficient memory on PPC Geeks! Funny enough, first thing I tried with Netfront was to go to PPC Geeks and look at the thread about the new Opera Mobile 9.5 thread.....first thing is that is show me the finger in the form of the insufficient memory error. That's all it took for me, I got rid of it.
Oh, and I do have a Sprint Touch, so memory shouldn't be an issue...especially since Netfront was the only program running.

There are a few other things that I don't like about it as well, like the constant zoom in deal, and the overly sensitive "touch and hold" menu.

Overall...it's Skyfire FTW for me!

Re: New Netfront update.

I am not getting any memory errors, but I can not get the settings to hold. I want the DISPLAY MODE to stay set as NORMAL as default. I can not seem to get that to stick...anyone have any ideas?

Re: New Netfront update.

Funny, I'm getting the out of memory error as well at PPC geeks.
The other thing that is annoying me is when Netfront is when it is no longer checked as default, none of my weblinks in iLauncher will work, or for that matter in total commander; gives me a no program associated error. Tried the cab for Opera min as default and still no joy.
I'm not finding much difference between this and Opera mini, I realize that mini goes through a server vs Netfront, but pages load just as fast, the zooming is more intuitive with mini, no memory errors and mini is about 4Mb smaller to install, including jbed. The only upside to me for Netfront is the auto import of my PIE shortcuts while mini required me to use myopera website, and no subfolders for my shortcuts. So I gotta ask, what makes Netfront better?

Re: New Netfront update.

Well the scrolling is smoother in Netfront, but considering how much you have to do of it, it probably is a two edged sword. I prefer Opera Mini over Netfront, but so far I like Skyfire the best. I haven't messed with Opera 9.5 at all...too much work to get it going and too many versions coming out. I am gonna try it when Opera dishes out an official beta, but until then, I am sticking with Skyfire.

Re: New Netfront update.

Trying Netfront on SD card. I know thay say it's going to act funny but so far so good. Besides, frees up some memory. If this works, I'll keep both for a while and give them both a good run. Sure scrolling is better but coming from PIE, all of this looks amazing. Either way I'm browsing the web alot more as a result of these browsers.
