this might be helpful if you are working on a sprint phone.
When you patch SPL, you load it on the phone, then you try to flash something to test it. IF you break OS and you dont have matching CID signed rom, you might not be able to get your device working again because from bootloader mode ( stock ) , you can only flash provider signed roms.
