Having trouble after downgrading bootloader v2.04 / v2.05 to v2.02? Read here.

Alright, a lot of people followed that guide to downgrade their bootloader from v2.04 or v2.05 to v2.02 Well, it most cases, I find it's not needed. It allows for some more ROM space in the kitchen but it require you to always use NoID RUU. If you're building a lot of junk, the ROM will be slow and un-stable. v2.05 is supported by the kitchen so no issues there. If however you are getting a Country ID error and need to use NoID RUU, then you will need to downgrade it. I myself have only had to downgrade 3 out of the many, many Apaches I've owned/worked on.

Anyways, the v2.02 from that guide is not exactly the same as the original version. It requires NoID RUU when flashing a ROM. If you are using the kitchen on Windows XP, you need to make sure you have Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5. When building a ROM you must select "NoID RUU" from the RUU drop-down box.

On Windows Vista, you need to make sure you have Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1. If you have 6.0 you should upgrade. After you have that you will need to downgrade your drivers. Information on that can be found here. If you don't wanna spend time joining yet another forum, you can download the zip from that thread here. After that is done, you can build your ROM with the NoID RUU. But, you need to disable USB connections in Windows Mobile Device Center BEFORE flashing a ROM. After you're done flashing, you can enable them to sync again.

Now, if you need to flash back to your stock ROM, you will get a Model ID error. To fix this you need to follow a few steps.

1. Download the ROM from your carrier here.

2. Extract "ms_.nbf", "nk.nbf" and 'radio.nbf" from the "Output" folder of the excutable.

3. Place them in the "NoID RUU" folder from here.

4. Put your device in bootloader and plug it in via USB.

5. Run the excutable called "APACUpgradeUt_noID" from inside the NoID RUU folder.

Now, again, all this pain can be avoided by not downgrading your bootloader. There is no way to upgrade back to v2.04/5 So, after you flash back to stock via that method, they will have trouble flashing when it gets back to the factory Lol.
