how to download files to the droid

the new droid well not let me download any files to the phone from the internet to the phone it says file not supported any way around this thaks lefnut.

Install Astro File Manager from the Market. You have to have a file manager in order to DL. Also it depends on the type of file you are trying to DL.

I use a program called "Download Crutch". It makes it so you can download any file type from the browser.

astro also has a option to allow you to download anything from the internet but it causes problems with gmail attachments it says.

Dolphin Browser can download more things than the default browser. Also, 'steel' browser works for some additional file types. 'Download Crutch' is good to have as well.

Download Crutch appears to have been removed from the market, the .apk does work however so if you want it you can get it from one of us here.

Dang, that's annoying. I wonder why it was removed? I wiped my phone when installing a new ROM and haven't yet installed Download Crutch...could you post the APK here?

Astro File Manager lets you download any file you want, even if its not supported. Now thats freedom

no freedom is having to not have to download apps to be able to download more apps lol


Opera 9.5 on winmo will do all that n more without a app.......lol Android
