COX and SMTP with ERIS DROID

I have been trying to set up my COX email for the last 1.5 days on my ERIS. Recieving mail is no problem but I cannot send anything. Keep getting the answer about not being able to connect to COX server. I have taken it to Verizon and they say it isn't on their end and then contacted COX who said they support no wireless systems but try putting in the proper SMTP code.
Double checked everything and it still isn't working.
Any ideas?

Re: COX and SMTP with ERIS DROID

There is a solution!! I found it in another Droid thread...
Go to your Account Settings. Do NOT change anything in the Incoming settings. Click 'Next' to get to the 'Outgoing server settings'. Make sure 'Login required' is checked. Make sure the SMTP server is correct for your location. I am in Arizona, so my server address reads smtp.west.cox.net Next field below that is the 'Security type'. Make sure 'SSL' is selected. The 'Server port' will then be 465. The phone will verify this information and if everything is good it will move on to the 'Edit account' screen where you can personalize the 'Account name' and 'Your name'. After that, your choices will be to go 'Back' or 'Finish setup'. I hope this helps y'all!
