That may be true, but the rainbow that is described in this thread is actualy damage (for lack of a better word) As I stated earlier mine finally got bigger and when that happened the touch function of the screen was dead.

Someone also mentioned software as an issue, this is definitely a hardware problem and it will eventually wreck the screen function.

Why is everyone so worried about Refurb? I have never had a problem with refurb anything.
Finally got the new phone, and it was actually new, box, accessories, the full deal. I'm surprised. I wouldn't have cared either way, but it is nice to have more accessories. I think I have 7 home chargers now lol..

But you have to admit, the Touch Pro/Diamond AC chargers ARE the sleekest AC to USB adapters available...

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

big diesel pointed me here and i have a XV6800 Mogul and i only got the oil slick after i placed a seidio screen protector on and then talked on the phone for about 15 min. I thought it was oil from my face at first, but it was not. in fact the slick spot expands to about 2 in with the screen protector on and when the screen protector is not on it reduces back to 1 cm. I just got this phone yesterday so it has been in the utmost care possible.

i bought my phone on ebay i'm debating if it's worth asking the seller to invoke her asurion warranty on this. so roundabout.

This is a really interesting issue... So your rainbow issue is with a liquid, not magnetic interference? I'm sure the ebay seller will be able to fix it for you.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

update...just like someone else on this forum i noticed that i only can see the iridescence under fluorescent light. that is why i never noticed it from the beginning. i only use incandescent light at home but when i came to school that's when i noticed it. all this time i had thought it occurred this morning when i probably received it with that defect.

i have been hounding this seller and i feel bad for her i keep sending her an email everyday for the past 2-3 days updating her of the product and whether i will keep it or not.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

So is this happening to many other people?

Noticed a small spot on the middle, bottom of my screen that looked like described in this thread. I tried to wipe it off and it wouldn't go away.

Dammit....I love everything else about this phone. I hate to get a new one! Did the folks in this thread all get their pros replaced over this?
Will it probably get worse?

Bought mine 01-07-2009 at Best Buy with a build date of 12-17-2008.

Has anyone been able to replace their phone with this issue w/o dealing with insurance?
