I have successfully changed the PagePool size on a Touch Pro rom!

I have changed the Pagepool on JD's Touch Pro ROM using a hex editor as described in this thread http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=43110 Except this is the line I had to edit

Can't you just use the PagePoolChanger program to do this?

I think you have a typo in your Title btw

Re: I have successfully changed the PagePool size on a diamond rom

Ok, what is the diff between dynamic and static pagepool. I am more than comfortable with hexing since its a must with programming rat's and such and I know dynamic means it fluxuates with use and static dosn't but in realworld uses is there any benefit to a dynamic pagepool over say a 24 static?

Re: I have successfully changed the PagePool size on a diamond rom

is it a noticeable enough change to bother changing it on JD's latest rom and reflashing? I am already running the latest but am having some problems with picturemail so am considering re-flashing and if you say its alot faster I might as well get it over with, LOL.

Re: I have successfully changed the PagePool size on a diamond rom

Well... it took less than 4 second to open the windows directory in total commander. Don't know if that's much of an indication. It's really responsive. I wouldn't reflash just to change it but next time you reflash, just go for it. Besides, JD said he's updating tomorrow

its almost 3am and I am not forming proper sentences again. What I meant is since I planned on re-flashing to test if that might have been problem with picturemail and this has just came out for setting pagepool I am going to kill two birds with one stone, and flash is done now and it is lightning fast compared to last flash and memory reflects an actual change so it seems this pagepool option works. Will post on the picturemail in a few after I can check it out in JD's thread
