New Opera 5 Mini Beta

http://www.opera.com/mini/next/

This new beta mini version seems pretty cool. I like the cached back/ forward feature and the preview of the other open tabs. Overall just seems more well rounded for a mini browser. It has more of the iPhone type features.

What do you guys think?

Re: New Opera 5 Mini Beta

Is there a way to crate a shortcut to the program once it's installed?

Re: New Opera 5 Mini Beta

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...5&postcount=30 that thread has a shortcut in it. They also have some other files for Opera Mini 5 Beta if you keep reading.

I still prefer Opera Mini 4.2. It's just faster and the new one seems too much like Opera Mobile (and I can load that anytime I want). I use Opera Mini mainly for reading forums, online news articles, and the like.

Plus i'm still having the same issue where I flip my TP to landscape and it goofs up Opera Mini. Which doesn't seem to be fixable in the new 5 beta (where as in 4.2 I could select a text box, then hit cancel to come back to normalized screen).

Opera Mini 5 = lighting fast Safari

It is still in beta, but already usable and very promising. Just because of this, I don't want an iPhone for its slow Safari.

Mutilple tabs, password manager, copy&paste, save pages, find in a page, opens up flash (youtube)... not all of them working yet, but at least implemented.

Pretty much everything like the Safari, but light years faster. Like before, few sites that uses server side scripting do not work, but then I can always use the Opera Mobile for them. This is the browser for daily use.

Why I prefer Opera Mini? Fast, of course. And it does not run hot like all other browsers. It does not run out battery quick and it consumes very little data.

Been playing around with it. It has some nice features, but I'm hating not being able to use Touchpal keyboard.

Settings ... advanced ... turn off in line editing ... use your installed keyboard.

If I disable inline editing, OM5 exits when I enter into an edit box.
