add to contacts

hi my friend left a missed call, his number is not there in my contacts, so I saw missed call notification and his number in call log, from the call log menu i don't see a option to add to contacts, the only option is write down his number in paper and enter it in new contacts

Am I missing something?

Please help me finding an answer

Just push and hold down on the phone number in the call log...a menu will pop-up and give you an option to Save to Contacts

Thank you for your response, partially solved the problem, but for example I have my friend Tom in my contacts with only his cell phone #, but his missed call is from his home # which I not yet entered in my contacts.

So I thought of selecting that # from call log and just assign to existing contact in address book.In you method I need create one more entry for tom, save it and modify later

Thank you once again

What I do from the call log is create a new contact, copy the number and cancel that new contact. Then I open my friend's or whatever contact and paste the number.

Is it efficient? No. Effective? Yes.

if you go to your start menu & go to settings & then go to personal & click on phone. there will be an option "after calls from numbers that are not in contacts, ask if i want to add them." just make sure that is marked.

Yeah but that's not the issue, that would bring up a new contact, I think... the point is to save the number to an existent contact.

I'm gonna try that, maybe it'll work, but I think it'll try to create a new contact just as from the call log.
