Just letting you know that, all cdma phones that do gsm as well, the gsm function doesn't work in the states, so you won't be able to roam on 3g networks and cdma networks in the states. in the US only cdma will work, once you go overseas you pop in a special sim card then the gsm version becomes active.

i doubt its a typo.....that sucks 3.4??? i was really looking fwd to 3.6 on the tp2..maybe this was suppposed to be a verizon version as they always cripple the hardware....i want my 3.6!

Yes, I figured it would still be CDMA/EVDO in the US, but thanks for pointing it out, some might not realize that.

The main interest for me is that I go to France every once in a while, and of course, France is GSM only. Instead of having to use my old Nokia 6101 while I'm visiting there, I could just use the same phone! I feel it's gonna cost an arm & a leg, though.

Just get a prepaid sim card, though data is wicked expensive in europe. Minutes are typically .10€ though. In the UK it was £.10 a minute or SMS which wasn't too bad.

Re: Sprint getting HTC Rhodium

Yes, a prepaid sim card works, but you need to tell everyone to call you on a different (International?) number.

Re: Sprint getting HTC Rhodium

the leaked pictures said it is "sample". does this mean that the final sprint version pro2 might look very different? I remember that last year we did not know exactly what the Diamond looked until close to release date, Sep.

Re: Sprint getting HTC Rhodium

It better not be 3.4. I'd expect Verizon to do something like that, but not Sprint.

Re: Sprint getting HTC Rhodium

having different screen size from the original Pro2 makes no sense in term of cost. it would cost more for HTC to customize diferent screen size for different carriers. it is not just screen size. they have to chage the body, board, etc.

it is not much work to change cpu/memory but frame size is a whole different change. unless sprint is not getting Pro2 but something else?

Re: Sprint getting HTC Rhodium

I cant stand it anymore! The new phone coming out for sprint will not be the HD or HD TOUCH or TOUCH HD(blackstone)...The phone iwill be a Touch Pro 2! It will have a keyboard and the screen will be bigger but not by much...just a lil longer.

If your wondering how i know this...its just common sence on my part (plus the TOUCH HD is huge! Plus, when the touch pro came out...it was first shown on the HTC website around this time last year. Sprint got it in Nov...which i think is their 3rd Q (Q3) THe major difference was that it had a camera on the front AND the back, so im sure this touch pro 2 will come out around Nov. If it doesnt...or if sprint comes out with their version of the blackstone (same size and all)....i will go out and buy it...and eat my touch pro...which will pis my mom off cuz i promised it to her!
