Lost EvDO after upgrade, FOUND FIX.

Help... I have Sprint on my touch and was using roaming to get EvDO on my area. It was all working great until I decided to try to upgrade my radio to 3.37.15 using (RUU_Vogue_4350_PPST_SpeciallNBH_SPRINT_WWE_3.02.6 51.2_Radio_435011_3.37.15_AM_NV_SPCS_1.33_0823_Tes t.exe) from 3.37.10 (used RUU_Vogue_4350_ALLTEL_WWE_3.04.671.2_Radio_4350H_3 .37.10_Alltel_NV2.00_PRL30008_0331_Ship_withSpecia lNBH.exe)

After the upgrade when I set my phone to roaming only it stays on 1X. I've been searching the forum for this but no luck.

Clues anyone?

UPDATE:
I'VE FOUND THE FIX (i feel like a ninja now :)!!! So, apparently PRL 60611 removes EvDO from Roaming... One of the roms i used upgraded the PRL to 60612 and you'd lose EvDO when Roaming. Solution? downgrade your PRL to 60610.

To do that:
1. download the PRL file from http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/attac...0610-60610.zip
2. extract it in your My Documents folder inside your phone memory (not card).
3. dial ##775# and wait till it asks for your MSL to unlock it (ton of threads on how to get your MSL).
4. Highlight UPDATE PRL
5. Menu Edit
6. Browse to the file...
7. Ok, and say Yes to update.
8. Soft-reset and you're set!

EvDO is faster and lets me be online and receive phone calls at the same time so my girlfriend won't get pissed anymore cuz it won't go to voicemail :) plus I get free roaming so I can just enjoy it now.

Were you certain to allow customizations to run (presuming you are a Sprint subscriber)?

yeah... i let it run for the Sprint one. I have internet and the phone works just as it should, except that I can't get EvDO anymore (i could before the upgrade).

I've also tried to downgrade to the original Sprint file (RUU_Vogue_SPRINT_WWE_1.12.651.1_2.13.00_SPC_NV133 _Ship.exe) but the same thing happens.

You may need to do a OTA re-activation....

From the dialpad, ##786# but it's important you write down your MDN and MSID, coz, you're going to need it later. Your MSL will also come handy later on.

Some better suggestions can be found here

I don't see the MDN... just the MSID, what is the MDN number?

I am little confussed with what your saying. I have a sprint touch and I upgraded to that same rom a while back and in phone settings the option for choosing between sprint and roaming is no longer there. It displays only 2 options, Home and standard. If i am not mistaken you cant force roaming anymore. If understand correctly your using the altell rom am I Right?

BTW: When I was running the stock rom if you set your phone to roaming you couldnt get Sprint EVDO. I always ended up with 1x on roaming

The options under phone settings for Roaming vary from Rom to Rom. I'm using JD's and it's actually called Network something instead of Roaming and you select Automatic - B to be roaming.

Excellent Ninja work. Did you try 60612? Also I assume you mean 60610 not 61610?

Do you have to force it to roam only to get evdo while roaming?

Watch out if Sprint sees you roaming greater than some magic percent they may terminate your plan.

Glad that you got this fixed.

However, I think that it is important to clarify: You cannot be engaged in an active data session while also conducting an active voice call. Rev.A will, in many cases increase data speed and reduce data latency, but it does not enable simultaneous data and voice. What Rev.A does enable, is an interrupt ... so that when a data session is taking place (long download, etc.) and a voice call is incoming, you get a prompt to allow you to choose to interrupt the data session in order to take the voice call.

Best regards,
-boggsie

EDIT: P.S. So what does it mean when your PRL is blank?
