Rev.A will, in many cases increase data speed and reduce data latency, but it does not enable simultaneous data and voice. What Rev.A does enable, is an interrupt ... so that when a data session is taking place (long download, etc.) and a voice call is incoming, you get a prompt to allow you to choose to interrupt the data session in order to take the voice call.

EDIT: P.S. So what does it mean when your PRL is blank?

you sure about that? Rev A does not give u simultaneous data and voice, nor does it prompt you to interrupt.....I'm running a fairly stock rom att, and just tested this by streaming radio then placing a call from a landline. data stops, EV changes to 1X for the phone call.

The confirmation ... I guess that is more of a supposition based on experience and observation.

I have seen/received the prompt a few times ... i.e. in the midst of an active data session and a call comes in ... and I received a prompt.

How interesting ... can't for the life of me get it to come up now.

So, no prompt - immediate incoming call. :p

UPDATE:
I'VE FOUND THE FIX (i feel like a ninja now :)!!! So, apparently PRL 60611 removes EvDO from Roaming... One of the roms i used upgraded the PRL to 60612 and you'd lose EvDO when Roaming. Solution? downgrade your PRL to 60610.

To do that:
1. download the PRL file from http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/attac...0610-60610.zip
2. extract it in your My Documents folder inside your phone memory (not card).
3. dial ##775# and wait till it asks for your MSL to unlock it (ton of threads on how to get your MSL).
4. Highlight UPDATE PRL
5. Menu Edit
6. Browse to the file...
7. Ok, and say Yes to update.
8. Soft-reset and you're set!

EvDO is faster and lets me be online and receive phone calls at the same time so my girlfriend won't get pissed anymore cuz it won't go to voicemail :) plus I get free roaming so I can just enjoy it now.

I did the 2 registry edits and confirmed they stuck. When I select Roam Only and hit ok my phone just sits there, trying to connect to a network. Nothing happens. I did the above updated PRL and still the same result.

Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

does anyone know how to get rev a and calls to work at the same time? im running the new leaked official rom from sprint...maybe a reg edit to keep internet connection on will do it?

Yaco, which network are you roaming on ?? I have good VZW EVDO coverage in my area but even after doing the things you suggested I can't get EVDO roaming.

You do know 60613 is the newest....call *2 and ask for an update on your PRL for 60613

They will hang up and you have to call *2 back and your update will begin, see if that works

I have a little bit of a problem. I got the prl to load and get the EVDO to show up but when when I am in roam and try to use the internet it wont let me connect. But if I switch back to auto and try the internet it works fine. I did the reg edit for the new sprint rom of roaming only and that works fine and did what yaco said to do but I cant connect.
