Probably depends on your phone set up. It is java based so you may need to go into your java app to see it. My phone automatically created a link in the start menu to launch it.

I don't get it, why do you need a "java app" to send/receive from a gmail account??

You dont "need" it to send recieve as you can use IMAP/POP3 but to use the advanced GMail features you do have to use either the web or the app.

Check out this app that's been made to automatically create a Shortcut, disable the 'are you sure you want to allow access to the net" prompts.

GC Java Pack.
