Re: Touch Pro Combusted!!
anybody else not surprised its a Verizon phone
I want more pictures though.... that one looks a little fishy also i'm pretty sure the battery in pants was due to a short, water, or extreme stress from being sat on (bent).

Re: Touch Pro Combusted!!
+1 for the request of more photos.
Glad to hear that your & your home theater are OK. I'm going to start selling Touch Pro Fire Retardant Charging Pans on eBay. I'm going to capitalize on this. |

Re: Touch Pro Combusted!!
First question. Was the battery the OEM one that came with it or aftermarket?
Was the charger used the one that came with it or aftermarket? (Curiosity only here) Sooo many folks out there have no idea of the dangers of LIon batteries. Remember the HP battery recall? The Toshiba recall? Sony recall? Dell? I fly RC aircraft and have a ceramic fireproof charging container for the LIon batteries to charge in. Heat, external short, internal short, seperator failure. They can all cause the burning battery issue. Surprisingly it doesn't occur all that often. Most consumer devices have the LIon batteries encased in hard plastic to prevent punctures, shorts, etc. Unlike RC aircraft batteries which are soft sided and subject to impact, crashes, shorts, etc. (Not that I crash my heli's often) But when it DOES happen, it's spectacular in it's destructive capabilities. |
