Use the Touch Pro as a trackpad via the touch screen?

I have searched and found nothing on this? Perhaps this is better asked of the group at XDA, but is there an application for using the TP's touch interface as an expensive trackpad for a PC or laptop? Would be cool via BT or just usb.

Re: Use the Touch Pro as a trackpad via the touch screen?

I believe this is what you are after!

GRemote:

GRemote is an application used to control your PC using PDA. Your PDA can work as a mouse, keyboard, joystick, and remote controller for some programs and PC functions. As for now we have applets described below:
  • GCenter - place to select controller type
  • GMouse - mouse control like Logitech MX Air (not the same)
  • Touchpad - applet which emulates laptops touchpad with a scroll area (dpad centre is left mouse button, useful for drag&drop)
  • GPad - especially for Media Center (generates arrow keys, Enter, Backspace, Esc, Alt+F4, StartMenu)
  • GMedia - multimedia keys for Windows Media Player (VolUP, VolDown, Play/Pause,Stop,Next, Prior)
  • Keyboard - Now you can use any SIP
method including the hardware keyboard in HTC Touch Pro. Extra keys on
screen Ctrl, Alt (three state), Esc, Del, Tab
  • GRace - thanks to PPJoy we have analogue game controller with 2 axis and 12 buttons. It is similar to NiiMe for Nokia, but only steering wheel at the moment.

That's really cool! I'm gonna give it a try and possibly be saving it for future use, thanks!

Re: Use the Touch Pro as a trackpad via the touch screen?

In case you wanna use it for a keyboard input instead, here's an app for that.

nueUSBKeyboard

by no2chem 28. March 2009 01:00 After seeing the Logitech diNovo Mini, I realized that the miniature keyboard was kind of like the keyboard on my HTC Touch Pro. So, instead of purchasing a $149 device, I went on a mission to make my Touch Pro have similar functionality… primarily for computer repairs or those times I really don’t want to touch those icky keyboards in public places.

Anyway, the product of the last few developments is nueUSBKeyboard, which implements a HID Keyboard as a USB Client Function. This version is a very early version, so support for LEDs (such as NumLock) aren’t there yet. But I’m sure you’ll find the tool quite useful if you find yourself frequently in need of a USB Keyboard… and only have your phone handy.

In the future, I might implement more USB Client functions. On another note, I have some requests for OEM versions of nueKBLight and nueTVOut, so I better get to work on that…

No, problem, I find them both to be quite useful. Always happy to point people towards a good application.
