You don't need to hard reset to swap radios.

You can get in touch with me through aim, I'll be happy to help... faster replies than here, but...

It's just like flashing a ROM, and no, you do not need to hard reset after the flash is complete, everything else will be in tact.

Recovering a bad radio flash is tougher than recovering a bad ROM flash, so BE CAREFUL! Actually be sure nothing else is running on your computer and it's stable and doesn't risk crashing. Because my USB cable has the end pulling out a little, I set the phone down before the flash and don't touch it till it's complete.

Just be cautious about it and you'll be fine.

Would one see a lot of improvements by updating radio?

The RUUs always say that. If you got the RUU from the TouchPro CDMA upgrade thread then it won't hard reset your phone. Trust me. Just did it. You have to unlock first.

I find it easier to flash ROMs and radios from the SD card.

1. Make sure you backup anything that is necessary to your day to day operations! At a minimum, please perform an ActiveSync to Outlook or your Exchange server prior to flashing!
2. Rename the custom ROM NBH file from RUU_Signed.nbh to RAPHIMG.nbh
3. Copy RAPHIMG.nbh to the root of your microSD Card.
4. Hold the Volume Down and Power button simultaneously. While you're still holding those 2 buttons, press the reset button with your stylus.
5. When your Touch Pro tells you to do so, press the power button to begin the flash process. If you do not get the message to press the power button to flash, there is a mistake in the name of the NBH file or you do not have the file at the root of your microSD card.
