How to Hard Reset a 6850?

All,

I searched for this, Really i did. Even HTC's web page is vague on how to hard reset the 6850. What I have found is hold down the Vol down button and the "Enter" Button. I have tried the "Enter" button on the keyboard, the center button, the arrow button, and the home button, and still no joy. I know this is such a noob question, but i am stumped. My unit hangs on what I think is the Touch Flo load page, but it just has the main tabs showing on a black screen.

Help!

Re: How to Hard Reset a 6850?

There are a number of threads on this, but what works for me is

Hold the vol- the center button and the power button and press the soft reset switch.
If the phone vibrates, then you did not do it right.
There is also a option called Clear Storage under Start Menu-->Settings-->System.
But it sounds like you are not able to get the phone to boot

Actually to be able to tell you the proper way to do it with the hardware keys we need to know if you have the Sprint phone or the Verizon phone. The procedures are different for the two.

Re: How to Hard Reset a 6850?

I have the Sprint version, and the method described above worked for me, the Vol down, Power and Center button, while pushing down the soft reset button.
Thanks!

I've hard reset so many times I can now do it while driving.
I use both hands and put the stylus in my teeth or push it against my chest.

However, PPCGeeks takes no responsibility for any injury you may receive by this procedure nor do we suggest or support the use of driving while hard resetting your phone

Coz

p.s., the lawyers wanted me to say that.
