Verizon TP with SSK / No boot even after hard reset

I need help!

I have been a very happy user of SSK Standard since 1/31/2009

Today I installed the Logmein app again and then installed KforTouchPro from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...52#post2791652
as I was trying to address the Logmein keyboard issue.

However I got no results.

About an hour ago I was reading an email and tried to click the "X" to close the message and it would not work and the phone was unresponsive. I did a soft reset of the phone and got back into an email and had the same issue. I did a soft reset again and now the phone will not boot.

I get the first screen with verizon logo and "Please Wait, Phone Starting up"
then a flash to a Black Screen
Another Verizon animation and then it stays on that screen

I have done a Hard Reset using the following steps.
Hold Center Key + Press Power
Press Vol-up

Phone reboots and freezes on the same screen as above.

I have tried to reflash the ROM. However, the Tri Color bootloader screen loads fine and when I connect the USB cable, ActiveSync tries to connect and says "MS ActiveSync cannot recognize this device..."

I am at a loss for what to try next, any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

If your using C then you need to flash to C2. There are known problems with C not booting past splashscreen.

Try deleting the ActiveSync device on your comp and then restarting a new one. Or flash a new ROM from the bootloader screen

+1 At least it not bricked but it def sounds like the booting is messed up try another hard reset and flash to your original ROM

yup, same thing happened to me from the C kitchen on my Sprint/Verizon TP.

I reflashed it from the bootloader & now it's fine again.

Re: Verizon TP with SSK / No boot even after hard reset

Thanks for the Replies stanglifemike and ClevelandWheeler!

I am trying to load the latest SSK Rom now from http://www.scottcrosler.com/TouchPro/SSK/index.html

However I still cannot get an ActiveSync connection.

I should be able to load the ROM from the MicroSD card right?

I am following the instructions titled "Flash from microSD Card (Thanks to MadlyAlive):" from http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=43266 and having no luck.

I have tried to name the nbh file RAPHIMG.nbh and scrosler.nbh

I only copying the one nbh file to the card and placing it on the root. Should I be trying something else?

Thanks again for your quick responses.

Re: Verizon TP with SSK / No boot even after hard reset

as long as you can get to the bootloader screen you can still flash without an activesync. i had to flash this way a couple of times after the ppc kitchens rom crashed on me. give it a shot. put phone in bootloader after you have built the rom and it goes to the screen where it tells you to make sure you have a sync. then just plug the phone in and wait a few seconds and continue with the flash as usual.

You definitely should be able to flash from the card. Make sure it's a smaller card & formatted as FAT32

That is how I did it after mine locked up.

Thanks jmorton10!

I figured that out just a little bit ago.

FAT32! what a pain.

That needs to be added to the first post under the sticky "General - How To Flash Your Touch Pro". http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=43266 Unless I missed it and am just blind.
