Setting PIE as deault browser on TP?

Is there anyway to set the Internet Explorer as the default instead of the Opera Browser? My brother in law just got the TP but prefers the Internet Explorer. Any ideas? the search button is acting weird. Whenever i put something it says i need to put a minimum of 3 letters? @_@

open opera go to settings/advanced/uncheck "set as default browser"
then soft reset
