Google Maps Craps Out During/After Phone Calls

I have found that if I'm using Google maps with GPS turned on (i.e. while driving) and I receive a phone call during this time, after hanging up the screen goes back to Google maps but the program is completely lost and/or frozen displaying just a blank screen and a blinking marker in the center. The only way out is to stop the program and restart it. It is also annoying that during the course of the phone call the map is no longer displayed...meaning that if I'm really in an unfamiliar area I would risk getting lost if I took a phone call while navigating with Google.

Have you experienced similar issues? Are there any work-arounds to these bugs?

I have seen this issue before... I think this is an issue with CDMA technology... Google Maps uses both GPS and data to get its location and to update the maps... When you make a call or receive a call, your data stream gets interrupted, the data to Google Maps, and I think that Google Maps just can't re-sync properly after the data stream is interrupted, therefore requiring you to restart the program...

Do the same issues arise with the Sprint navigation application or with M.S. Live Search? I haven't experimented with these applications and simultaneous phone calls yet.

Yeah.. The data stream gets interrupted for any program that accesses the internet.. Those specific apps might not lock up like Google Maps does, but they do lose internet access (at least temporarily)
