Turn off screen while using TV Out

I realize this sounds like it would negate the very purpose of using the TV Out. However, is there a way to turn off the screen of the TP2 while still continuing playback of perhaps a movie or video on the TV?

What exactly does it do? Turn off the screen by sliding your finger across the screen or zoom bar, or does it actually turn off the phone?

link tells ya, 3 options, screen off,phone off or softreset. its mapped to power button.

I have pocket toolman already installed that has a screen off option. That also turns off the signal to the TV, so if the programs you linked do merely the same thing then I'll need to look deeper into this.

I appreciate the help though. I guess it's possible that nobody has looked into this yet.
