Mike my phone has the same gap and I have seen 3 other TP2 with the same gap...

I also have the same gap found it odd. i checked the other two at the office and they both have the exact same gap as well.

Interested in the speaker problem... a friend's TP2 does it too, he hasn't reset it yet, but seeing as you have, would be interested to see if it was a tweak, hack, or app that made the problem appear...

I had an PPC6700 and a Mogul which I both dropped like 50 times, not to mention had them flying from 1 side of the room to the other..my ppc6700 usb port snapped off after 2 years of abuse..but that is expected and was fixed with me soldering it back in..my Mogul now is still being abused after 2 years as well..*whistle*...now waiting on a TP2 to abuse :/

HTC Touch Vogue #1 (mine) - 11 months, USB port came out, Touchscreen Failed, Crack at Power Button
HTC Touch Vogue #2 (wife's) - 6 months, USB port came out, case cracked at Power Button
HTC Touch Vogue #3 (swap, mine) - 4 days, power button failed, case cracked at power button
HTC Touch Vogue #4 (swap, wife's) - 6 months, USB port loose, case cracked at power button, battery cover falls off.

On the other hand, that made for some pretty good leverage to get our TP2 phones at a decent discount, mid term in our contracts.

Oh yes,

HTC Touch Pro 2 #1 (mine) - 4 days, GPS chip failed. Swapped as DOA (once Telus got one in stock)
HTC Touch Pro 2 #2 (wife's) - 11 days, touchscreen fails when using case armour (fixed by removing the armour, hope it doesn't get a scratch).
HTC Touch Pro 2 #3 (mine, swap) - 5 days old, everything is good so far

Look at your phone, Right underneath the volume rockers does the battery door look like its spacing out on each side of the phone?

Mighty, I have been getting very annoyed about this back cover thing. On both sides of my TP2 the battery door 'bubbles' out a little bit. But when you click the battery cover open a little bit, they go back to normal (flush with the frame). I'm fine with this, but the bubble is right under the KB and when i squeeze this area it creaks... very annoying when you want to press the spacebar...


...Also, I have a worm-shaped 'stain' that looks like an oil/gas stain on pavement on a rainy day... It's only noticeably visible in fluorescent light, and it moves if you put pressure on the screen. (but goes back to normal after you remove the pressure) it's 2cm by 0.5cm right in the middle of the screen. Anybody know what this is?

I took it in to the Telus store and asked the tech/returns rep what it was. he said it was moisture. i told him it looks like a pressure point under the LCD, and that it's been there since I got the thing. he pretty much told me to go away, and they only replace phones that have something really wrong with them. I was within my 30 days, and wanted an exchange. Am I being whiny here for asking for an exchange? i'm kinda OCD about my devices as well

I purchased that clear case Telus try's to sell everyone when they buy this phone. Personally I love the case as I throw the phone in my pocket.

I'm thinking this is the reason why I never noticed the gap.

I would call your service provider, ask for a manager and tell them the techs name.
