T-mobile TP2 wifi connection problem

Hey all,

My TP2 no longer works on internet or email using wifi. 3G, etc is fine, but when wifi is turned on, it will not open a page. Tried Opera and IE. On email I get a sync error unless the 'Data' connection slider is 'On.'

What settings am I supposed to see in the connections section? I must have changed something without knowing. Tried searching a couple of forums, but I think I'm the only one with this situation. Hopefully it's something silly and I'll pop myself in the forehead for not figuring it out...

Thanks for the assist,

OZ

Re: T-mobile TP2 wifi connection problem

Try checking> Settings > System > connections > Wifi > and check to see if your 802.11 Wifi is setup to connect to Work or the Internet. Try swapping it to the opposite of what it is on now.

Re: T-mobile TP2 wifi connection problem

Thanks,

Still no go.

What are the settings supposed to be and where all do they need to be set?

Cool Re: T-mobile TP2 wifi connection problem

Did you find out what the issue was?

I am having the same problem. The Data connectivity via T-mobile(Edge, 3G) is working fine. As soon as I connect to wi-fi, it stops working.

As soon as I disconnect from wi-fi, it works fine.

Re: T-mobile TP2 wifi connection problem

OK, Same problem, I don't know why it did it, but my adapter was locked one ip address rather than "server assigned"

solution:
setting; all settings; connections; wi-fi; wireless networks; network adapters; broadcom 802.11 dhd network adapter; use server-assigned ip address; ok
also check "broadcom 802.11 network adapter"

another symptom of this problem is that one of your other wifi devices might lose internet connection when you turn on your phones wifi (happened with my laptop) because the phone hijacks the ip address

Hope this helps
