Touch Pro 2 goes dim in 10 seconds

Hey guys, I'm hoping this will be an easy question. I'm new to the Touch Pro 2 so I'm not familiar to all the little settings. My phone goes dim in 10 seconds. I found the setting in the power section and I unchecked the default 10 second dim setting but it still does it. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Re: Touch Pro 2 goes dim in 10 seconds

Which one did you uncheck? There is two settings in there for when your phone is plugged into the wall/computer and when your phone is only on battery....make sure the one you unchecked is the one that was on battery power. Also this phone has a proximity sensor that will dim the display and or make it go off if it is close to your face or object. It's also sensitive to light...so at night time it will get brighter, while during the day it will dim a little more.

Re: Touch Pro 2 goes dim in 10 seconds

I changed them both (wall and batt) but it still does that. Where is the proximity sensor? Maybe I'm covering it by accident. Thanks for the help.

Re: Touch Pro 2 goes dim in 10 seconds

Hey just an update, I checked the batt box again and changed it to 4 minutes. It seems to be working but in the past when I did this it seemed to get reset when I did a reboot. Have any of you had this issue?
Thanks.

nothing shud change to default even after a soft reset! maybe the installation was corrupt? or maybe some other app or setting is causing it?

Yup, I turned that off too. Ghost in the machine? Very weird. I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks for the suggestions guys.

Re: Touch Pro 2 goes dim in 10 seconds

Lots of my WM phones have done this from time to time. Fiddling with the backlight settings in the registry (deleting the locklevel folder, I think) seems to help now and then. Oddly enough, though, this has never happened to me on the TP2, out of a long list of phones.

If you're desperate, I wrote a mortscript over in the Intrepid forum that handles backlight auto-dimming problems on that phone (much worse than anything I've ever experienced)...you can find it in my tips and tricks thread over there.

My guess is that something you installed is messing with your settings and causing a conflict. Prox sensor only works during calls on a stock setup, not just out of the blue.

Re: Touch Pro 2 goes dim in 10 seconds

Ok, sounds good, I know how to get in the registry of my PC but I've never done it on the phone. How would I do that?
Thanks for all your help.

Re: Touch Pro 2 goes dim in 10 seconds

It definitly reset the backlight timer when ever I lock the screen. I down loaded your Intrepid_Fixes.mscr file. Do I just run that from file explorer or do I do something else?
Thanks for your help.
