Security flaw in My Network in Resco Explorer?

Today I installed Resco Explorer on my fiance`'s TP2 (stock ROM) and went to configure a network drive so she can access files on her desktop computer while at home on the wifi. The "computers near me" list started filling up and I could see...what looked like...hundreds of phones within the area. Some were called the standard WM_PHONE1 and such, some had actual names like BRIAN_WINTERS, etc... Also, this was before I even turned on the wifi because I was getting ahead of myself.

Is this normal? I didn't notice this on my phone a few weeks ago when I did this for my computer. Is this is a massive security issue with Sprint? I live in the Metro Detroit area. Is there a way to hide my own phone from this?

Yep this is normal and I've seen it happen on every WM phone I've used. I always disable the phone and enable wifi when setting up the network shares. Once they are mapped you don't have to worry about it as you won't see this list again.

I just did a hard reset on my TP2 (stock ROM), installed Resco explorer, and checked the My Network section. I don't even see the "Computers Near Me" category on mine. I can't think of what is different between my phone and my fiance`'s.

Are you both using the latest Resco Explorer?

Possibly not the latest. I downloaded the cab from the official website about two, maybe three weeks ago. I had it stored on my SD card and installed this same version on both of our phones today. In fact, I did her hard reset earlier today and did mine yesterday. Both phones have the same settings applied and both have the TP2 Tweaks cab found in this forum.
