Re: Anyone Use Pocket e-Sword Bible Reader?

Unfortunately Olivetree has ceased all Winmo development on their products.

If I were a winmo user, I'd avoid it because the program is quite dated and won't be getting any more updates. I'd check out Laridian.

I was going to say that this was the version I first used years ago when e-sword only had a desktop version. It is a good program, but as you pointed out, there hasn't been an update in 13 months. Also, I haven't tried it in awhile, so I don't know if it would work well in landscape mode or at all. That said, I didn't see any indication they're closing up shop, so maybe they'll get back on the ball.

They aren't closing up shop. They just ceased development on Winmo. I got an email from Olivetree support basically telling me that Winmo development has ceased for the foreseeable future.

I know people don't like to hear this but they are focusing on the iphone/ipod, BB and now the Android.

Major bummer. Well, thanks for the heads' up on that one.

The official announcement that _Pocket e-Sword_ was no longer being developed, or supported, was made on 12 December 2009. jonathon

Indeed, it's right there on the website:
Pocket e-Sword is no longer being developed, nor supported.

You are welcome to install it on a supported PDA or phone, but if it doesn't work for you then there is no "fix" or help available.

Re: Anyone Use Pocket e-Sword Bible Reader?

If someone wrote a program for landscape mode on 2.5 manilla than making this work should be a piece of cake

Also a bummer that only e-sword has Russian and Chinese translations. I was sure OliveTree had them both, but maybe I was wrong.

Re: Anyone Use Pocket e-Sword Bible Reader?

Over the past few months I have been working on a basic bible reader for windows mobile because of problems I had with pocket e-sword. Right now I only have a KJV translation and many features that most would require I have not been able to implement yet. So far you can open to any chapter you want but you have to go to the first verse. It supports portrait and landscape but does not automaticly switch with the g-sensor, something I am working on. I am writing it in VB.NET 2005 if anyone is able to help it would be most appreciated
