Ncruze sent me a file from his SD card last night and I was unable to read it on my Mogul. The file extension ended in ".menc". I tried to rename the file, but it is stored as a menc file. I was thinking it was encryption, but then why does it only apply to ~90% of his files? He was able to copy his PIM.vol file over and restore it after his hard reset (basically the SPB file wouldn't self extract, but the PIM.vol file was fine).

@ Ncruze - try this application out for formatting your SD card. Also, I believe there are some tools available in it to help you diagnose your problem better.

He was using the encryption option. It binds the card to the device's SID. If you hard reset the phone get's a new SID and the card will no longer accept access from it.

That's my guess.
