Re: HTC PPC-6800 Alltel WM6 update

Could you take a look at these two links below and inform me if they are the proper steps to take?
Basically there are 4 steps I have to take to switch providers on my 6800:
Unlock the phone
Install rom
Install carrier cab
Install mms cab

Please let me know if this is right..
Thanks a BUNCH in advance

Re: HTC PPC-6800 Alltel WM6 update

you dont need a carrier or mms cab for a stock rom. Only needed for a custom rom.

Re: HTC PPC-6800 Alltel WM6 update

Sorry for all the questions but I have another one
I successfully flashed the ROM..

I have another phone that is programmed to Alltel, so I got the MDN,MIN,SID and NID from both NAM1 & NAM2. Are these the numbers that need to be programmed to change providers? If so , How Do I Edit The NAM On My 6800??

Try QPST, But some of that info is specific to your plan. IE: phone #

Thumbs up Re: HTC PPC-6800 Alltel WM6 update

I found a friend that has the same phone. I just got the settings off his. Since my 6800 is verizon the prl could not be changed, however I could update it via sd. Did that and was able to call *228 but couldn't update. Called 611 and told them i was switching phones and the new phone was a ppc6800. She asked for ESN and then entered it in alltel's database, had me *228 - it worked! >>Problem solved<<

THANKS TO ALL....
