VNC and RDP Apps?

Im looking for a compat VNC app. I have tested about three PTvnc, PTvnc2, Mocha and they dont run good on WM6. Anyone use a VNC prog that is good?

Also I noticed that there are no Terminal Services included in WM6, I downloaded a Terminal Service but the keyboard would not work. Any help is much appreciated.

I can't help you with a VNC app, but you can find the RDP client here.

I would love to find out why Sprint/HTC pulled the RDP client in the first place.

I use this on my 6700. very good app IMO and many configurable options. in particular I use scaling/server side: 1/2 and update asap turned on and it runs like a champ! theres a new version out but I'm too chicken to try it (if it aint broke...)
I've been using 1.0.1.16 for years now (used it on wm2003se as well). just make sure u have .NET installed.

http://dotnetvnc.sourceforge.net/

hth,

ps tell us if it works on Mogul (it should, that's why I posted)

pps I also forgot to say on my server I'm running Ultr@vnc , scaling might not working with other vnc programs (i remember it crashing if scaling was selected with normal vnc server app)

Ok I installed the newer version without NET and its connected fine, just slow processing screen and my strokes. It eventually displays (even have force refresh on.) If someone can confirm installing NET will speed it up I will install it then report.

try using .16. there is a slight delay, its due more to sprint I think. try with your wifi, its always zippy on my 6700 via wifi, but it does indeed have a slight delay. might also be because of redrawing on such a small display (and having to reformat screen?)

sorry to bump this thread but i was searching and found this to be the most relevant. i tried mocha and didn't like it, so i switched to vnc. net

i like it, but i'm having one rather large problem: the slide out keyboard entry is entering in as the function buttons. ie, even NOT in CAPS or FN mode, pressing V will type a * and H will enter a 4 and the same goes for all the keys. there doesn't seem to be any kind of setting in vnc. net to alter this behavior. ive tried turning on caps and FN to see if it would reverse it, but it does not.

any suggestions?

edit: i found this: To enter letters on a Smartphone, press "*" on your keypad. A textbox will show at the lower right corner and you can enter letters as well as the arrow keys, backspace, enter, etc. The textbox will dismiss itself automatically after idle for several seconds.

but it doesn't seem to do anything

I have been using LogMeIn Free for the last month. Works great, other than the fact that you cannot file transfer on the free version. You have to install a component on both the PC and the PPC but after you do, if you go into your settings for the PC you can save a URL to the target PC. I put this in my favorites and when I need to get to my pc, I launch the favorite and type in the password.
