6.1 Update Thread

I thought since there are going to possibly be 20 bajillion threads on this subject it would make sense to consolidate it into one. Well here it is.

Kudos to Gelial at XDA for finding the link and posting it.

I've been running it for about half a day now and it seems stable and decently fast. The usual speed hacks apply but it is sure stable. GPS works out of the box, but the Location Setting needs to be flipped on. The Green key actually answers the phone right away which I thought was amazing.

If you are having problems with GPS check the Location Setting, and do the QPST trick again. I did let customizatiions run just FYI.

Update: I would suggest Oxidos Hibernate and CloseApps and WkTask to make it better. I've been keeping it at 21MB of free RAM with these 3 programs. :D

*228 and then option 3 should fix it.

Re: 6.1 Update Thread

I installed 6.1 and then did *228 option 2 and 3 and everything seemed to work good. I install Htc Home Customizer and then the plugin... No sent message, a theme, and google maps.

Question = Havent messed with any of the settings for GPS or anything. The alltel nav works but the google maps doesn't. Should I use one of the 6.0 fixes that were available to speed up the gps/make it work on google maps or is there a better way? any suggestions?

Re: 6.1 Update Thread

do shadow-tech agps fix, this will really speed it up. Alltel Nav has AGPS built into it. so it can get a lock fast, but google maps or live search will depend on your GPS.

Alltel did not enable the AGPS on the update, all they did was place the drivers into the ROM,

Re: 6.1 Update Thread

So I turned my location setting on and the google maps worked.. in 5 seconds in had me a 3 blocks away from where i was then it went to 1.5 blocks away... then after a minute it moved me like 6 miles away and has been there for awhile. It flashes 67kb seeking gp satellites(0). and then flashes 67kb gps active(0). Back and forth.

EDIT= I think it just sucked since i was inside at work. Once i went outside I got 7 satellites.

Try the AGPS trick Brett. I get a lock inside right away.
